Seams to Me…
DD and I were at Barnes & Noble yesterday for an American Girl event and…well, I bought myself an early Christmas present: Anna Maria Horner’s Seams to Me.
I wanted to do every single project in this book but chose the Bo Peep skirt for little girls (or boys, what the heck, right?). It turned out so cute! (You have to squeal that last word to get the full effect)
Fabric: front and back panels are Erin McMorris’ Park Slope line, side panels are Robert Kaufman’s Another Iota, ruffles are Jackie Shapiro/Moe 3 (can’t find link online), and the ruffle trims are ZipaDeeZoo (Lyndhurst Studio)
Pattern: see above
Note: picture must come later. I realized that MrCatHead has the cord that links the camera to the computer…and he is on a business trip out of the country!

Elephant Bag
Even with help from the flickr group for Last-Minute Patchwork Gifts, I was confounded by the wee elephant, Peanut.
So I decided to make use of the templates for the elephant’s body and ears and put him on the front a bag I was making as a gift. I stuffed the body with a bit of fiberfill to make him stand out a bit from the body of the bag. I forgot to photograph the contrasting fabric on the inside of his ears. And I can’t do it now because it’s already wrapped!
He looks so cute! I’m going to make more. Definitely. LittlestCatHead has already requested one.
Fabric:Heather Bailey’s Fresh Cut for the elephant himself and Erin McMorris’ Park Slope: Lime Circles and Stems for bag with a simple muslin lining (I have a lot of muslin to use up!)
Pattern: modified from Last-Minute Patchwork Gifts’s Wee Elephant project

Bedside Pocket
Fabric: Japanese canvas with Alice in Wonderland motif
Pattern: modified pattern from Amy Butler’s In Stitches and Lotta Jansdotter’s Simple Sewing
The way my daughter’s bed is designed, I had to make straps which velcroed to the back of the pocket. I lined the back and the pocket with muslin.

It’s time for the December Giveaway, hosted by Sew, Mama, Sew!.
I thought I would keep with the seasonal theme and make a little bag with some colorful, Christmas-y fabrics.

I’m also throwing in a little surprise gift to the lucky winner! And since there have been so many blogs signing up, we’ve been asked to let this Give-Away run til Friday. Woohoo!

Etsy shop is open!
I set up the etsy shop (finally!) last night. I woke this morning to find I already had one sale. Woohoo!
There isn’t much there yet. I’m sort of testing it out, seeing how this Etsy stuff works. If you see anything here on this blog that you would like, feel free to special order!
So here it is: Mrs CatHead’s Etsy!
